Project SLAM (Seismology Learning and Analysis Module) is an Earth science
teaching module that focuses on seismology activities. The objectives of
this module are to inspire students to:
Explore Earth's interior through seismology.
Explain how and where earthquakes occur, and their relationship
to plate tectonics.
Expand their knowledge of Earth structure and composition.
Learn how scientists use seismic recording equipment and earthquakes
to learn about Earth.
Understand how science and technology are interlocked.
The four activities in Project SLAM are interactive through a
variety of in-class and WWW presentations.
