Project SLAM
Project SLAM (Seismology Learning and Analysis Module) is an Earth science teaching module that focuses on seismology activities. The objectives of this module are to inspire students to:

  • Explore Earth's interior through seismology.
  • Explain how and where earthquakes occur, and their relationship to plate tectonics.
  • Expand their knowledge of Earth structure and composition.
  • Learn how scientists use seismic recording equipment and earthquakes to learn about Earth.
  • Understand how science and technology are interlocked.
  • The four activities in Project SLAM are interactive through a variety of in-class and WWW presentations.
